Initiatives we love: Circle Paints
We’re big fans of reuse in all its form at Among The Trees, but while our expertise sits with timber and woodworking tools, there are so many other materials and products out there that can be reused. However, even large initiatives that look at reuse or repurposing can result in little to no actual reuse. This has been the case for paint for a long time now, so we’re thrilled to see the gang at Circle Paints step in to encourage and facilitate the reuse of paint!
Up until Circle Paints started up, there has been no recycled or reused paint products for sale at scale in Sydney. While there have been groups and initiatives set up to look into recycling and reuse in the past, most paint that is collected for safe disposal and potential reuse ends up being dried out and then disposed of in landfill.
However, it doesn’t have to be this way! Professional painters and hobbyists alike often end up with large amounts of leftover paint after finishing a job, paint which is perfectly able to be reused. However, there has rarely been an incentive to reuse this material.
The team at Circle Paints are a breaker in this pattern, collecting trade volumes of surplus timber, performing quality checks and swatch tests to match as close as they can to the Dulux range, or describing how it differs from the closest shade. That’s where you come in – the paint is then available to purchase online or in store, including a wide range of exact matches for Dulux’s colour range.
We’re big fans of the team and their work, and are excited to see another product available in the reuse space around Sydney. At the very least, we know where we’re buying our paint from now on!
